Anytime

Wooohooo! It's Friday!!  I made it through another week.  Today was rather uneventful at work, which is somewhat unusual for a Friday. Normally, the only good thing about Friday is that it's Friday. I ate a green monster again for breakfast.  I begged my husband to try it but he said may be tomorrow. Snack was my usual and lunch the same. Once I like something I will usually eat it until I get tired of it and then move on to something else and the cycle repeats it's self.
I tried potty training today with Bry today. I put "big girl underwear" on her and we had 2 accidents in about a 20 minute time frame. At least she did sit on the potty. Often times she just screams, "No! No! No!" when I tried to get her to sit on the potty in the past.  She did look pretty cute sitting on her little potty.
My sister came over and went to the gym with me. I did about 45 min on the elliptical. I love that thing.  Tomorrow we are going to the gym in the morning and I will try to do my run in the afternoon.   We go to Anytime Fitness. I like it because you can literally go anytime. That's good for me since I never really know when I will be able to get my work out on. Once I went at 11:30 at night and it was awesome. Except sometimes I get freaked out walking to my car. The only thing I don't like is there are no classes. I used to go to Fitness Lady and I would go to a few classes here and there but it was a lot more expensive than anytime.
This is my picture for this blog since I forgot to take some today.  Hope everyone had a great day! Sorry I didn't have much to post tonight.

Sign me up!

So I was super excited last night after I went for my run jog. I was able to go for 3.40 miles in 50 min!! and  I only had to stop and walk for a few seconds. Probably no more than 60- 90 seconds total and not that often.   I was very happy. The 5K I want to run is November 19, so that still gives me a few weeks to work my way up to the 3.1 miles without stopping at all if I can stick to my plan and run at least every other day. I think I will register tomorrow….because tomorrow is PAYDAY!!! Haha!
This morning I had a green monster smoothie. I found the recipe here and it was AH-MA-ZING! I was unsure when I saw it in the glass. It smelled yummy so then I tasted it and it was sooooo good.  Who knew!  I will probably definitely be making this again. I am even going to see if my hubby and Bry like it. It would make a great Halloween drink too.

Snack was the same thing I have eaten every day this week, and still just as good. I don’t think I could eat it without the fresh strawberries though.  Lunch, I had turkey on everything bagel thin, with laughing cow cheese, a little horseradish, spinach and tomatoes and it was very good....again.
My mom came over this morning and got Bry ready. They were going back to her house today to play with some friends, and she looked so cute so I took a pic of her saying “cheeeese!” This weekend we will really be starting the potty training thing.  From her little cues she gives us (with out going into detail)…I think she is ready.

I will try to update later on how the rest of my day went.

Wednesday

Yay! It's Wednesday...one day closer to the weekend.  I am home on my break and boo bear is sleeping so I thought I would take this opportunity to write a quick blog. Work is work....still one hour to go. I feel very tired today like I could take a nap myself.  I woke up cooked myself some eggs
It was really goo. Def. will make it again. It had egg whites, spinach, a little low fat feta cheese, tomatoes, and peppers. I love spicy food.

Snack was this.......again

A couple of hours later I was starving again so I ate lunch
And no, I didn't wait until I took the picture before I had the first bite. It was really good. I think I will make this for my husband.

I was still hungry when I got home so I ate some dried cranberries/almond/ MM trail mix that I whipped up. (sorry no pic)

Tonight I plan on doing the elliptical and the treadmill and some weights. I'll try to update later. Chow!

Clutter free is the way to be

What can I say about today?  It was a pretty good day. Work went fairly smooth. I am a planner. I like everything to be in order and just right.  Not really the ideal job for someone with my personality, considering anything could happen in home health (and sometimes it does) but it works most the time. I might even be some what ocd. I like my desk a certain way with the stapler here, and the phone cord going that way. I don't like a lot of clutter. I hardly ever have a stack of papers on my desk and as soon as I have something that needs to be done, I get it done.  I guess this mostly refers to my job.  It seems I always wait to the last minute to get a birthday card, do Christmas shopping, that sort of thing.  At least I don't procrastinate everything.  I hate clutter at home too. I like all the dishes to me away and nothing in the sink. Even though it's a sink made for dirty dishes I hate to see them there.  I love for my counters to be clean and free of clutter too.  I really get on my husbands nerves bc I am always cleaning  but I just feel better when its done.  My daughter is a different story. I just have to shake my head and close her bedroom door sometimes. I think she likes clutter.  It just means she is having more fun. I'll try to post a pic then next time the tornado comes through.
Today wasn't so good with my workout, I didn't do anything. Just chase Bry around for the majority of the night until she fell asleep. 90 to nothing.  I didn't take many pics of my food either. I ate 3 egg whites scrambled with peppers, tomatoes, 1/2 slice of sliced cheese, and some avacodo. It was pretty good.  Snack was apple with natural peanut butter ( I did take a pic of this)
It hit the spot.
Lunch was another wrap with turkey, hummus, lettuce, and roasted red pepper...oh and avocado of course!
Then Supper was another wrap with veggies and turkey and grapes..we had to go grocery shopping so I got lots of good stuff.  For snack I had a larabar.  Good night

Monday, Monday.

Today was a good day. Work went smoothly, I stuck to my clean eating, and I had a great work out. Except, the only thing not so good, my boo bear go stung by a yellow jacket while outside looking at her bird feeder. She is just fine now, thank goodness.  I think it scared my mom worse than Bry. Poor Grammy.  So for breakfast I had this
It was actually quite good.  I should have eaten a piece of fruit or something with it but I am still trying to get used to eating breakfast and not skipping every morning...even when I am in a hurry.

Then I was off to work. I was hungry by 10:30 or so and for snack I munch on this
I used to not really care for Greek yogurt but now it seem good. Who knew?
I packed lettuce and turkey and grapes and balsamic/oil dressing for a salad but when I opened my lettuce it had started to liquefy and looked yucky. So I just ate the grapes and turkey and then ate a yummy Larabar when I got home. Bry was in a mood and I couldn't really cook anything
Supper was grilled asparagus, meatloaf with lean ground beef and mashed potatoes....although that was for Bry and the hubby.  I did my P90X arms and shoulders routine and then went to the gym and hit the elliptical for 50min. Then came home and ate a banana and some natural peanut butter. SO it was a good night.

I hit a milestone!...literally

What a productive day I have had and it's only 3:00pm.  I woke up early this morning around 7:00 am and hit the gym, after I ate a Larabar for a quick breakfast. My sister came along with me.  Saturday nights most of the time my in-laws graciously keep Bry for me so I can get things done that I wasn't able to or just have a relaxing night.  Usually the hubs and I go out to dinner then chill at home watching a movie or cleaning..which is what I usually end up doing. I love a clean house.  So...usually after sleeping in the next morning I always seem to feel more tired and so sluggish, like I just can't completely wake up. That's when I decided to try something different and hit the gym early and not sleep in half the morning. And to my surprise I feel grrrreat!  We both did about 45 minutes on the elliptical. I love that thing. I wish I had one at home.  We came home showered and then I went to get my stinker . She was sitting on Granma Sweetie's lap eating little cuties tangerines. And I don't know why but she likes to wear these glasses. They are adult reading glasses that we poke the lenses out so she could have a play pair.  She wouldn't stop stealing maw's..(sorry bout that maw)

So after we came home I was freezing and just couldn't warm up. I was also hungry so I ate some MISO soup and some grapes. It did the trick.

Later when lunch time for us I fixed me an awesome roll up on whole wheat tortilla, hummus, lettuce, tomatoes, turkey, and avocado...yummie! then I dabbed a bit of EVOO on the outside and warmed it in the skillet.  I'm getting hungry just recapping it. Brylee had some green beans and applesauce which she tired to eat with her hand.
My Ingredients to my awesome roll up.

After a few meltdowns from Bry she decided to give it up and fell asleep as the NASCAR race came on TV and we tried to find daddy in the crowd. I don't blame her, it made me quite sleepy also.  We didn't find him. I decided I would get on the treadmill and go for a little jog. I was able to make it for 2 WHOLE MILES with out dying walking. WOOOHOOOO!! I was so pumped. Now, just have to make it another mile and I can run a 5K. There is one coming up Nov. 19 here in Jackson. I think I may just sign up..if I don't make it the complete 3 miles running I can walk. At least I can't say I didn't try.
Oh and  couple of pic because they are so cute. Here is one of my diva eating her strawberries for breakfast
And here is one of her at the park. She loves to swing and slide.

Why blog?

So today I decided I would explain why I decided to start a blog.  I  just recently started to even understand what a blog was...like within the last week. I googled clean eating blog and came across clean eating chelsey .  I read one post and was hooked. I thought "I can do this."  What a great way to share your stories and meet new friends that enjoy the same things you do. Its a great way to get encouragement and be an encouragement to others.  So, a few days ago I created my blog.
My entire life I have either been overweight, on a diet, or not caring and putting into my body anything and everything.  I have tried probably every diet out there. NONE OF THEM WORKED. I have come to realize that what I needed to loose weight and become healthy was not a diet but a LIFESTYLE CHANGE.  Big difference.
I reached my heaviest weight after the birth of my daughter, who was born 1-4-10. I guess I thought I was still eating for two, or three, or four. I was completely disgusted with myself and very disappointed that I let myself get that heavy and unhealthy.  I had lost a lot of weight my first year in college and swore to myself that I would never let myself get to that point again. I was so devastated that not only had I reached that point but I totally surpassed it.  So one day I had just had enough. I went and joined a gym and so it began. I bought fitness magazines and healthy eating cookbooks. I managed to loose about 60 pounds from May  2010 to June of 2011, then I thought I would try some fad diets to help get the weight off faster.  It worked for a few weeks, and I lost 25 more pounds. But I was hungry, irritable, and dizzy all the time. I couldn't do it anymore. I decided that if  I lost the first 60 pounds by doing it the right way then that's how I was going to continue.  I want to be healthy so I can be good example for my daughter. I want fruits, vegetables, whole foods, and exercise to be a part of her everyday life so that when she gets older it will come natural to her.  I want to be a good role modle for her.

Here is a pic of me around my heaviest weight, about 85 lbs ago.

Here is a current picture of me .
I also wanted to incorporate the fact that I am a full time working mother of two one (haha...sometimes my husband acts like my child..haha..love ya hunny!). She is the joy of my life.  Having a full time, sometimes stressful job and a young daughter has made my journey, at times, more challenging but I wouldn't have it any other way..well except for having a full time job. Sometimes I wish I could stay home and play with Bry all day.  That would be a dream come true.

Blah Friday.

My workout: 45 min elliptical
                    Shoulder and Arms/P90X
6 hours of chasing a 21 month old
What I ate: Breakfast- Larabar- lemon
Mid morning snack- nothing, tummy felt too upset for some reason
Lunch- left over chicken stir fry with wheat couscous and some grapes
Afternoon snack- Got to busy and forgot to eat
Dinner: My bestie and I went to Friso's deli. I had a cajun roast beef sandwhich on wheat
bread with a cup of vegetable soup. And a bit of Bry's fries.

Blah, that is my mood for today.  My stomach feels like it is on the verge of being upset. Don’t know why L But hey, It’s Friday!! Wooohooo!  Except my husband will be out of town all weekend, so me and Bry will have the house to ourselves. He is going to Talladega to see the race. Not my cup of tea.
So raise your hand if you are addicted to Pinterest. Yes, my name is Stephanie Tankesly and I’m a Pinterest-aholic, I love that dern site. So many ideas that make me go Duh, why didn’t I think of that before.  The biggest task for me is getting around to actually doing some of those great ideas.  Have you ever gotten around to doing some of the great ideas you have come across?   I bought an old window at the Canton Flea Market last week and have to decide what I want to do with it now.  Hmmm…at the possibilities.

One of the good things about my job being like 6 minutes away from my house is coming home at lunch and getting to see this.

Pumpkins and butterflies

Why does it seem like my only free time to blog is at work?  I have cleared my desk for now, so why not?  So I think I had a fairly good ok day yesterday with my clean eating and exercise.  Breakfast I had a 2 egg whites and 1 whole egg scrambled with jalapeno pepper, tomatoes, and chives, it was delish!  O wait, I take back the “good day regarding my clean eating”, b/c I did have one slice of pizza for lunch. We had a work meeting and that was the lunch that was provided.  For supper I made stir fry with chicken, onions, and zucchini, over wheat couscous.  It was yummo as well. I made my husband white rice because I wasn’t sure if he would eat the other. He tried mine and said it was good.  Then for snack I had a handful of grapes. I know I needed a lean protein with that but that was all I really felt like eating.  Maybe I’ll do better today.  I did do the elliptical for 50 minutes yesterday on 8-9 intensity (if that means anything).  Today for exercise I will do either a biggest looser work out or Cardio x from my P90X set and maybe 45 minutes on treadmill to make up for my not getting up again this morning. I think I will start another 90 day P90X round Sunday or Monday.  I really want to get the Turbo fire or Turbo jam from beach body because they look like a lot of fun but don’t want to shell out the cash for it when I have a perfectly good work out (P90X) sitting on the shelf. Hmmm…I’ll that to my Christmas list.
Brylee had an awesome day yesterday as well. Her Pappy took off from work to spend the whole day with her.  They went to the museum of Natural Science.  Then lunch at KFC which is one of her favorites. She loves their green beans (or bean-beans as she calls them). Then she got to pick out her very own pumpkin.  She looked stinkin’ adorable when I saw her pull up in mom and dad’s car holding her punk-punk in her lap.

Then she had to push it around in the stroller for a ride when we got home. Too cute.

So now it is 10:00 and by sweet pea is snuggled in the bed with me.

When I got home from work she was out in the back yard with her leggings, jacket that has a "hat" and her cute little hightop shoes with her butterfly net.  We didn't see any butterflies so she decided to collect sticks instead.

Supper was tacos with lean ground beef. I started buying Laura's lean ground beef now...I like it
Yuummmy!!
I did manage to to my cardio X and also my treadmill. yay me!  Were you able to get all the things you wanted to accomplish done today?

It's 5:00 somewhere!

This title comes to mind this morning as I sit at my desk at work...but shh, I'll only blog for a few minutes. It seems like today is dragging by slowly. Wishing I could be at home with my baby girl. She was such a big girl yesterday. Her doctor's office had an opening at 7:00pm to get a flu shot so I took advantage of it and signed her up. She barely even cried.  Since she was OK after that we ran by Kroger to pick up a few groceries. Lots of fruits and vegetables and a few goodies also.  Since she was such a good girl I did let her get an ICEE which she sipped on the whole grocery trip and dropped out of the buggy a couple of times too.  I later came home and did a couple of loads of laundry, dishes, and a quick pick up around the house. I actually felt quite accomplished, although I didn't have time to make it to the gym.  The husband didn't get home until after midnight which meant I didn't get to sleep until around 1 am and I pushed the snooze when my 6 am alarm sounded for me to get out of bed and hit the treadmill...and I do regret it. I have got to make myself get out of the bed in the mornings. I know I will never regret a workout. Blah! Tomorrow...no excuses.  My goal is to run a 5K maybe by December and then progress after that. My brother loves to run, hike, mountain bike..anything outdoors. It just seems to invigorating so I have started to take a liking to running.  I'll keep you all updated on my progress and hopefully not the lack there of :)
Question: what are some of your goals and things you hope to accomplish?..Let me know ;)
